The Nutcracker Set To Open At BAM

The classic holiday ballet will open at Brooklyn Academy of Music on Dec. 14.

It’s one of the most cherished holiday stories of all time, and on Dec. 14, it’ll be opening right here in Fort Greene at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The Nutcracker is a ballet originally adapted from a story by 19th century German author E.T.A Hoffmann.

It tells the tale of Clara Silberhaus, who is transported on Christmas Eve to a world where mice and toys go to war and nutcrackers turn into princes.
