The Early Word: Suzi Shelton at Music in the Grove

Outdoor music series for kids continues in Fort Greene Park.

1. Don't run but walk swiftly over to Fort Greene Park to catch the second-coming of songstress Suzi Shelton, who will again lend her talents to this week's  of eight concerts for youngsters and their caregivers. Fort Greene Park, Dekalb Ave side (above the tennis courts). 10 a.m. Free.

2. , the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the U.S., will give out a free book to children after every sixth read. Clinton Hill Library, 380 Washington Ave. 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Free.

3. Launching last week for its third year near Fort Greene Houses,  again fresh, local veggies, honey, maple syrup, fruit juices and more. N. Portland Avenue at Myrtle. 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. EBT cards and food stamps accepted.

4. Celebrate Brooklyn latest act, , brings a hypnotic wash of subtle— nearly subliminal—pulse-like techno beats, acoustic guitars and plinky pianos. Prospect Park Bandshell, PPW and 9th Street (Park Slope). 7 p.m. $35.

5. Alternate side parking rules are in effect.
