Media tour of building on Ashland Place expected later today.

1. Residents and cultural aesthetes looking for what the months of construction have been about on Ashland Place between One Hanson and Brooklyn Academy of Music's Peter Jay Sharp Building: the wait is almost over. Patch will be joining other media outlets in a tour of the recently completed BAM Fisher building—the first in in Fort Greene to open—later today.

2. Jog, don't just walk, to Albee Square's series featuring JahPan in Downtown Brooklyn. Dekalb Avenue at Fulton Street. 10 a.m. Free.

3. The al fresco entertainment continues in Downtown Brooklyn with the 2012 BAM R&B Festival at MetroTech featuring —described by the New York Times as a wonder of rhythmic and brass precision at the very top of New York’s Afro-Latin scene. Flatbush Avenue Ext. at Myrtle Avenue. Noon. Free.
