Local Filmmaker’s Movie To Air On BCAT

James Avery of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air guest stars in this Christmas film.

A Christmas Wish is a timely film created by Lawrence “LAW” Watford, who resides right here in Clinton Hill.

It tells the tale of Asia, who’s wife is murdered on Christmas Eve.

Asia suffers, trying to get over Emma’s death, and is on the verge of suicide when a mysterious man makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

The man tells Asia he can reunite him with his wife, and Asia accepts, only to find out that in order to be with her, he must live through Emma’s death over and over again.

The 40-minute film is a tearjerker at times, but definitely has its funny moments.

Don’t be surprised if you see a very familiar face guest starring as well.

After much persistence on Watford’s part, James Avery, better known as Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, makes several appearances in the film.

“I got it in my head that I would start calling and faxing Hollywood agents, lawyers and publicists,” said Watford.

He started with Denzel Washington and Laurence Fishburn, working his way through the list until someone said yes (and it happened to be a pretty well-known someone).

The movie will start airing on BCAT on Wednesday Dec. 21 at 11:30 a.m. The channel varies depending on what cable provider you have. You can also watch the whole movie here.
