Is Spike Lee Mulling a "Do The Right Thing" Sequel?

BlackFilm reports that the legendary Brooklyn-based writer, director and actor to reprise the role of Mookie in the new film, "Red Hook Summer."

Call it the return of "Mookie."

Tipped off by a tweet by Spike Lee over the weekend, BlackFilm revealed today that the auteur behind the classic film, "Do The Right Thing," would bring the character he played over 20 years ago back to life.

The new film, called "Red Hook Summer," focuses on the story on an out-of-towner from Atlanta who spends a summer in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn.

This would mark the first time Lee has reprised the role in a film that was shot in Central Brooklyn in the late 1980s.

Needless to say, a lot has changed since then.

We wonder how Mookie is faring "new" Brooklyn (for one, we hope he invested in real estate on his block or bought out that burnt-down pizza parlor from Danny Aiello). What do you think?
