The Soul of Brooklyn Week

3rd ANNUAL SOUL OF BROOKLYN WEEK
June 16 to 23, 2012

Soul of Brooklyn Week is an annual celebration of African Diasporan arts and culture in the borough of Brooklyn. Attracting over 30,000 attendees, the Soul of Brooklyn Week features concerts, dance performances, film screenings, plays, art exhibits, and more. The majority of events throughout the week are free, and all are open to the public.

Saturday, June 16th

Fort Greene Juneteenth Festival
presented by Urban Bush Women and The Cooperative Culture Collective
A FREE arts festival celebrating African-American history and culture, featuring dance, music, and discounts at local businesses.

Exhibition Opening Reception

A FREE reception, with wine and h’orderves, in celebration of the opening of two exhibitions, H(A)UNTED, and In A Time of Change.

West Indian Steelpan Concert
presented by West Indian American Day Carnival Association
