Irondale Ensemble Project
Members of the Irondale Ensemble, the resident company at the Irondale Center, revive last season’s smash musical theater work, Color Between the Lines. The piece is part of In Pursuit of Freedom, a collaboration with the Brooklyn Historical Society and Weeksville Heritage Center to tell the story of the abolitionist movement in Brooklyn.
Thursday, Sept. 13:
White Bird Productions presents Urbnergy, featuring Kat Ledell
Urbnergy will feature the music of Kat Ledell - a combination of rock, folk, jazz, and funk. This Brooklyn-based group has some very impressive original music and will delight audiences with its uniqueness.
ISSUE Project Room presents Michelle Amador
Michelle Amador is a Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter
dedicated to and inspired by the transformational nature of voice and song. Often using repeated phrases and minor changes in vocal intonation and rhythm in a seemingly standard song format, her performances invite the listener toobserve time, words, intention, and their relationship to one another. Performing with Tim Bulkley on drums and Ben Campbell on bass.
Thursday, Sept. 20:
American Opera Projects
Three opera singers will perform song cycles set to poetry
written by young Brooklyn students mentored by writer and community activist Angeli Rasbury. Presented by AOP and the Walt Whitman Project.
Mark Morris Dance Group
The Mark Morris Dance Group will bring Brooklyn to its feet! Teachers will showcase three dance styles: African Dance, Modern Dance, and Zumba. Accompanied by live music, these interactive dance classes will be a fun way to try out your dance moves.
Thursday, Sept. 27:
Brooklyn Ballet
Brooklyn Ballet’s Company and Youth Ensemble present Take Ballet to the Streets!, which will include excerpts from Brooklyn Ballet’s Hip-HopNutcracker, plus an excerpt from A History of Ballet in 9 Innings, performed this summer at the Brooklyn Cyclones MCU Park in Coney Island. Brooklyn Ballet is a professional, not-for-profit dance company dedicated to artistic excellence, education, and serving Brooklyn’s diverse communities.

The Dancewave Company, a pre-professional dance company composed of talented Brooklyn teens, performs excerpts from its repertoire by world renowned choreographers: Twyla Tharp, Annie-B Parsons, Andrea Miller, and Ronald K. Brown.
