"Movies By Hal Ashby" Series @ BAM

According to BAM.org, "BAMcinématek honors the legendary director, editor, and self-described hippie with Movies by Hal Ashby, the most complete retrospective of his movies ever to hit New York.

"This series showcases his roster of misfits, rebels, lovers, and gardeners that defined his career in the 70s and 80s.

Oscar-winning actress Lee Grant and director Robert Downey, Sr. will appear in person at the 6:50pm show of The Landlord on Thursday, May 12; cinematographer Haskell Wexler will appear via Skype for a Q&A after the 7pm screening of Coming Home on Thursday, May 19. Both Q&As will be moderated by Ashby biographer Nick Dawson, author of Being Hal Ashby: Life of a Hollywood Rebel."
