Isolations and Body Movement for Mambo

w/

Lori Ana Perez

Bring out the Latin “sabor” in your body to go with your footwork, and your dancing will never look the same. This class will train you to isolate and control every part of your body from your shoulders to your hips, and integrate these sophistocated movements into your Latin dancing. Body rolls, shoulder shimmies, and booty shaking will be a snap after this! The class starts with light stretching, moves into body isolations, and ends with choreography that integrates body movement and simple footwork. This open level class is for anyone who wants to expand the range and diversity of their body movement. Lori Ana has performed all over the world as a principal dancer of Abakua Afro-Latin Dance Company and partner of Frankie Martinez (director of Abakua), and choreographed and performed work at BristSalsaFest in UK and the Simposium Internacional in Spain. She is trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, African dance, ballroom, and mambo, and is a strong believer that music and culture are the foundation of a dance.
