Irondale Theater Camp Open House, Fun Games! Build Your Own Sundaes! Free for all the Family!



If you're between the ages of 6 and 15 come to Irondale’s fun-filled Open House, June 2! Learn about our two summer programs at the Irondale Center in Fort Greene - the coolest space in Brooklyn! Meet and greet with summer staff and the Irondale Ensemble, take a backstage tours, create your own ice cream sundaes and take part in fun, creative theater games! Admission is free so you have nothing to lose and plenty to gain!

Our two-week sessions are tailored to keep students' minds engaged by providing a nurturing, safe, and artistic atmosphere. Led by professional Irondale Artists, young actors will experience various game-based workshops throughout the day. Workshops range from acting techniques, improvisation, movement/dance and character creation to storytelling, playwriting, and intro to design. Instructors encourage students to explore the power of creativity and develop an artistic voice. All sessions conclude with a performance for family and friends.

KIDS THEATER PLAYGROUND (Ages 6 – 10)
July 9 – July 20, 2012
Kids Theater Playground will have students bouncing off the walls with inspiration! There are so many ways to tell a story – kids will explore genre, comedic styles, improvisation, movement, mask and puppet making, music, dance, and song. Kids Theater Playground will conclude in a variety show of scenes, skits, songs, and storytelling completely inspired by the students.

JUNIOR COMPANY INTENSIVE (Ages 11 –15)
July 23 –August 3, 2012
Growing from the success of our school-year tween classes, Junior Company members will have the opportunity to learn the same ensemble approach our adult and teen companies experience year round. Working towards their final scripted performance students will learn what it takes to put on a show. From acting, improv, and scene study to front-of-house, and design Junior Company members will work as an ensemble to produce their play
