Moderated by Kariamu Welsh

As part of BAM's 150 anniversary celebrations, iconic artists examine the evolution of their work at BAM over the years, referencing onscreen projections of original performance footage and images from the BAM Archive.

In the course of DanceAfrica’s 35 years, artistic director and founding elder Chuck Davis has transformed the Brooklyn performing arts scene. Interacting with original footage from the BAM archive, Davis surveys his work with dance companies from Africa and its diaspora, as presented at BAM every year since 1977. Professor, scholar, and choreographer Kariamu Welsh will moderate the discussion.
