Novelist Ben Fountain discusses Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk with author & journalist Carmela Ciuraru

Ben Fountain is the winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award, two Pushcart prizes, and many other accolades for his short fiction; his long-awaited debut novel Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk has been called "as close to the Great American Novel as anyone is likely to come these days" (Madison Smartt Bell).

Set during one Thanksgiving Dallas Cowboys football game at Texas Stadium, it is a novel about the American war in Iraq, football, cheerleaders, the movie business, capitalism, love, sex, the transmigration of souls, and the general insanity of everyday life in America. Fountain will discuss his novel with Fort Greene-based journalist and reviewer Carmela Ciuraru, author of the bookNom de Plume.
