French singer Marie Martin mixes jazz, soul, and Brazilian music while never reducing them to a lowest common denominator. Her smart vocals and scatting combine with vintage keys and a sophisticated jazz palette at times, Brazilian guitar and percussion at others, gracing venues like Central Park Summerstage and soundtracks for films starring Gerard Depardieu and Charlotte Gainsbourgh.
