BAMcafe Live All-Stars: Nora York’s Power/Play

A prolific composer of music for theater, film, concert, and cabaret, Nora York specializes in deconstructing and reimagining established musical masterworks.

For Power/Play, she turns to Bob Dylan’s Masters of War, remixing it alongside verses from John Coltrane, Stephen Foster, and others into a trenchant narrative about Americans at war and work. Nora York appears as a BAMcafé Live All-Star in celebration of BAM’s 150th anniversary.
