Don't Miss: Documerica Kicks Off at BAM, Merges Photos, Strings

Documerica combines the work of a 1971 photo documentation project by the Environmental Protection Agency with music performed by the string quartet ETHEL.

What looks to be a highly cool, pioneering show merging modern string music and dramatic photography of environmental strife across America will premiere Wednesday at Brooklyn Academy of Music, part of the institution's Next Wave Festival.

Documerica combines the work of a 1971 photo documentation project by the Environmental Protection Agency with music performed by the string quartet ETHEL.

Wednesday's show, the first of three performances this, represents the world premiere of the show. Tickets cost $20 to $45 and the show, at the BAM Harvey Theater, starts at 7:30 p.m.

BAM's Next Wave Festival runs through DEcember and highlights emerging artists and highly modern works.
