Civil Rights Cinema Event Ending Wednesday at BAM

Final shows run Tuesday and Wednesday in Fort Greene.

Brooklyn Academy of Music's two-week celebration of the civil rights movement is coming to a close this week, but there is still time to check out what they've got going on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, BAM will be showing documentaries, Still a Brother and The Best of Black Journal, both focused on black filmmaker William Greaves and his visual contributions to the civil rights movement.

Best of Black Journal runs multiple times from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Still a Brother begins at 7 p.m. Both at at BAM, obviously.

Wednesday, the final night of the event will show the March on Washington Program,  wrapping up earlier events and celebrating the anniversary of the march.

Next up for BAM? Non-violence takes a backseat to wing-chun and Bruce Lee.
