BRIC House Opening in Two Weeks

BRIC Arts will open its brand new BRIC House venue next month on Oct. 3, with three days of free events in Fort Greene.

The new media and arts space is a 40,000 square foot performance space, venue and arts education center that has been under construction in the former Strand Theater since 2012. It is located at 647 Fulton St., at the intersection with Rockwell Place.

BRIC President Leslie Schultz said the organization was collectively thrilled with the new venue.

"The essence of this building’s design — an inviting public cultural space and a welcoming home for artists in Brooklyn — is entirely consistent with, and indeed was inspired by, the mission of our organization to serve artists and the public in a welcoming and informal environment," Schultz said.

Things will kick off on Thursday, Oct. 3 with a gallery exhibition and continue through Saturday, Oct. 5.
