'Battle For Brooklyn' in the Running For Oscar Nod

Documentary about fight over Atlantic Yards continues to generate buzz.

'Battle For Brooklyn' is poised to go Hollywood in a big, big way.

The Atlantic Yards documentary on Sunday made a list of 15 films under consideration for an Academy Award nomination.

The documentary, made by Clinton Hill residents Michael Galinsky and Suki Hawley, chronicles the ultimately losing struggle by determined Brooklyn residents against the mega-project.

And since its debut earlier this year, buzz around the film has only continued to grow.

After screenings throughout the borough and beyond, the documentary has found a semi-permanent home at Brooklyn Heights Cinema, where it shows on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.

Other docs up for an Oscar nod include 'Bill Cunningham's New York,' Werner Herzog's 'Into the Abyss' and 'Semper Fi: Always Faithful.'

Nominations will be announced on Jan. 24. The 84th Academy Awards ceremony will be held Feb. 26 in Los Angeles.
