If you like jazz and power-punching — and who doesn't — you've got a lot to look forward to at BAM.
The Sweet Science Suite, a selection of jazz designed to pop you in the mouth the same way Muhammad Ali could, is playing Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Composer Fred Ho and his Green Monster Big Band will be bringing all they've got to show that jazz is every bit as impactful as a fist to the face.
It is, according to BAM, an evening meant to "invoke everything from lightning-quick martial arts to the bounce and sting of Ali’s dazzling footwork. Marie Incontrera conducts Ho’s exuberant jazz score as it delivers a swaggering, brassy testament to the champion’s strut, color-blind vision, and humanity."
How do you miss that? More info here. Tickets start at $20 for non-members.
