Arts Calendar: What's Up at BRIC and BAM?

Your look at performances and installations near you!

Brooklyn residents at the center of the arts world, rejoice! As usual, you've got a lot going on this week, so boredom is not an option.

Here's a pair of upcoming arts events near you that deserve a second look, if you're not already planning to attend.

BRIC House
Friday night, the BRIC House Ballroom will be hosting Emily Wells in concert. Wells is a product of Brooklyn, and her multi-instruments studies in the classical and contemporary have earned her high praise. Why not check her out at one of her two weekend shows?

The concert will run you a cool $18.

BAM
Come, and Back Again, a dance installation of the Next Wave Festival takes a critical look at life in Brooklyn, choreographed by David Dorfman. According to BAM, in the piece "athletic, heroic dancers abandon themselves to the mire, exploring how time, humility, hope, and love help us manage our teetering existence." Sounds upbeat! Kind of.

Performances run from Wednesday through Saturday. Tickets start at $20 for non-members.
