5 Things: Women Love the World Festival and Underground Hip-Hop

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. Stomp to some music. Bring the kids to Spoke The Hub (748 Union Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues) at 10 a.m. for Free City Stomp Music Trial Class. Serving children ages 6 months to 4 years, City Stomp was nominated as one of the city's top music programs by Nick Jr. and GoCityKids. Enjoy a free trial before you sign up for a series of 10 weekly classes beginning April 6 for $215, which includes the professionally produced Orange Line City Stomp CD.

2. Go underground. Go to Branded Saloon for Underground Hip-Hop Night. You’ll enjoy a night of underground hip-hop with Stillborn Identity (from Pittsburgh, PA), Jack Wilson, People with Teeth, and Cornelius the Third.

3. Spread the love. Don’t miss Women Love the World Fest. This three-day festival and fundraiser, held at LaunchPad Brooklyn (721 Franklin Ave), will celebrate women artist-activists and their contributions to bettering our world community. The festival, co-curated by Caits Meissner, Karla Rodriguez and Lehna Huie, will feature a visual art exhibition, art for social change panel, short film screenings, live music, poetry and on-site activism engagement.

The night of music is hosted by Feral Foster and featuring a stellar group of musicians.
