Monday

Imbibe to indie. Head to The Way Station tonight for a line-up of Mark Rogers & Mary Byrne + BC3 (Brad Craig Trio) + Diana Tejera. Sad pop and joyful blues is followed by Haitian indie soul. The evening concludes with Tejera's mix of  Italian melodic taste, a Latin energy, shades of folk and an energic rock. 

Tuesday

Meet Black Magic. Attention basketball fans: There is a Book Signing with Earl Monroe and Quincy Troupe, authors of Earl the Pearl: My Story. Basketball Hall of Famer Earl “The Pearl” Monroe aka “Black Magic” tells his story with  Quincy Troupe (author of The Pursuit of Happyness), and taking the reader from the playgrounds and hardships of his childhood in South Philadelphia to his status as a basketball legend. Wednesday

Support Sunny's. Help raise funds to re-open Sunny's bar in Red Hook, which was hit hard by hurricane Sandy, at the MayDay Party for Sunny's. The line-up includes Red Hook Ramblers, John Pinamonti, Li'l Mo & the Monicats, Kings County Blues Band, Luna Sisters, Dave Vic & Friends, Simon Chardiet, The Woes. The Bell House, 149 149 7th St. bet. 2nd and 3rd avenues. 7 p.m. $30 (VIP tickets are $60). Buy tickets here.  


Thursday

See a sideshow. You don't have to trek to the boardwalk to see a sideshow. Tonight performer 
Donny Vomit of the Coney Island Circus Sideshow performs a wide array of "strange, odd, weird and bizarre" acts at Branded Saloon. His specialty is the Human Blockhead, where he drives Six Inches of solid steel into the center of his skull (and lives). 603 Vanderbilt Avenue at Bergen. 9 p.m. 

 
Friday

Laugh a little. Cap off the week with some sketch comedy at  AMERICAN CANDY Sex in the USA! The multi-cultural troupe will tackle everything From the fetish industry to reality shows and the pursuit of cold hard cash. South Oxford Space, 138 S. Oxford St. 8 p.m.
