Thousands Walk to Help Fight Breast Cancer: [PHOTOS]

Making Strides Brooklyn in Prospect Park breaks fundraising record, organizers say.

More than 30,000 people came to Prospect Park on Sunday to participate in the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walkathon in Prospect Park.

This year's event raised a record $1.05 million to help fund early screening, treatment and research, according to an American Cancer Society spokeswoman.

Some walked for their own battle against breast cancer. Others turned out in support of their mothers, daughters, aunts, cousins, colleagues and good friends.
