With Osama’s name largely out of the headlines, we shifted back to giving you exclusively local news again this week. From toddler Whiz Kids to major events in the neighborhood, there was a lot to talk about and we made sure you heard it here first.
On Monday, we rounded up some of the best internship opportunities in the neighborhood this summer for high school and college students. With internships in fields ranging from grant writing to production, there’s something for every interest within walking distance from your home.

On Tuesday, our Whiz Kid columnist, Autumn Dornfeld, gave us a profile of toddler genius Tenoch Saldana. Not only does he help out with the chores at home and put on musical jam sessions, but he also has a burgeoning career as a baby model.

Wednesday saw our newest freelancer, Elyse Jankowski, give us coverage from Sweet Roll Entertainment’s Curvy Girl Fashion Swap. The event featured live entertainment and an assortment of trendy designer clothes for women sizes 10 and up.
On Thursday, we listened to NYC Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly deliver the graduation speech at L.I.U. Brooklyn Campus. Kelly has been on the police force for over 40 years and even served in the 88th Precinct during the early 1980s.
Finally, our real estate columnist, Adam Jake Steinberg, gave us a round-up of some of the open houses taking place throughout the area this weekend.
