It’s been an intense week for Fort Greene Patch. Between Osama’s death, Obama’s visit, and all the events around Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, we’ve been all over the neighborhood (and the city) giving you the biggest news of the week.
This week opened with one of the biggest events in American history with the killing of Osama bin Laden. Within minutes of Obama’s announcement, we were on the scene asking local residents what they thought of this historic moment.
On Tuesday, we switched back to more local issues with a piece on two Clinton Hill filmmakers tackling the controversial Atlantic Yards project with their latest documentary, Battle for Brooklyn. on the eight year filming process, their style as filmmakers, and watch the trailer for the movie.

Wednesday saw our weekend planner, Autumn Dornfeld, providing a helpful round-up of some of the this weekend. From readings at Greenlight Bookstore to portraits at Still Hip, it seems like there was an event taking place at almost every store in the area.
On Thursday, President Obama visited Ground Zero publicly, and privately met with the families of 9/11 victims. We asked people across the neighborhood if Obama handled the visit appropriately by not giving a speech at Ground Zero, and whether the visit would provide closure. .
