Top Dog: Enter the King and Queen Canines of Fort Greene Photo Contest

Submit photos of your favorite pooch to Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Patch for a chance to win $600 worth of pet-friendly prizes.

Everyone knows their dog is the best dog.

Now Patch is giving you the chance to prove it—and pick up some serious pet swag at the same.

Here's how it works:

Send in or upload your best photo of a favorite pooch residing in Fort Greene or Clinton Hill to be entered into the King and Queen of Fort Greene Photo Contest. (Contest is open to all residents over 18 years old...that's 18 human years)

You can submit your photo into this post by simply clicking one of the "Upload Photos and Videos" buttons above (it’s super easy—just make sure you are a registered user first).

Or you can email the picture to Fort Greene-Clinton Hill Patch editor Paul Leonard at paul.leonard@patch.com.

Along with the image, please include your name as well as the dog's name.

We will be collecting submissions from Saturday, Aug. 18 until Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 5 p.m. Our friends at ProspectBark will then pare down the entries to the top five male and female dogs.

Then it's up to our readers to vote in the comments section of the article—which will be posted on Aug. 25 and runs through 5 p.m. on Aug. 29—on which two pups will earn neighborhood wagging rights.

The two dogs voted by you as King and Queen will each receive a prize package worth $600 in sweet treats that include:

A gift basket from ($50), a comprehensive exam and complementary microchip from ($100), a training session from Calm Energy Dog Training ($150), a professional pet photo session from Jenna Leigh Teti Photography ($200) and a staycation from ProspectBark ($100).

For the official contest rules and regulations, please see the attached PDF

And if you want to grab a look at your canine's potential competition for the King and Queen title, check out Fort Greene Park on Sunday, Aug. 19 for an off-leash event for people and pets.

I just join and was wanting to know if you had to live in the same state or city to enter the photo contest.?
Zach Haberman August 20, 2012 at 05:07 PM
@Audra. The contest rules are in the PDF attached to the article's photo gallery (it's just under the great pictures of local dogs being submitted by our readers). Entrant eligibility is the first one mentioned.

To that point Bob, I live in Ft. Greene, and Andrew S walks my dog, Beaumont, regularly. I have been using ProspectBark for about a year now with no complaints.

Thanks to everyone for these great photos... Just a reminder: If you haven't already, please let us know the name and gender of your dog by sending an email to paul.leonard@patch.com or in the comments section by the 5 p.m. Wednesday deadline. Good luck everyone!

We are looking forward to choosing the top 5 male and 5 female Finalists for Fort Greene King and Queen! Please make sure that you have indicated your dog's name and gender (by emailing Paul, above), or we will not be able to consider your pup. There is, sadly, no "gender neutral crown" in this competition. :-)
