Teen Game Time at The Library

What? School may not be back in session, but that doesn't mean you can't send your teen to the library - and when the library is hosting Friday afternoon game time for teens, he might actually go! Beats another evening wandering through the Atlantic Center!

Free Friday Night Jam: Cirque-Tacular

What? No matter what the temperature, there is always something cool going on at the Children's Museum, and the current Free Friday Night Jam series is no exception. This Friday circus artists of all stripes perform a variety of daring acts at the extreme edges of human capability.

Where? Brooklyn Children's Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave. at St. Mark's Ave.

When? Friday, August 5th at 6:30 p.m. 

How Much? Museum admission (which includes circus) is free after 5 p.m.

Ages? All ages

 

Revolutionary New York: Explore Life in the Colonies

What? Put on a funny hat and let's do the time warp again. Okay, you don't really need a funny hat, but in this free event from the urban rangers, you can explore what life was like in New York in the colonial era and how that period left its mark on modern city life.

Where? Visitor's Center — at the top of the park, near the Prison Ship Martyrs monument

When? Sunday, August 7th at 1:00 p.m.

How Much? Free

Ages? 8 and up

 

Heritage Op Concert

What? Heritage O.P. (short for "organic percussion") is an acoustic percussion and vocal ensemble that fuses the rich cultural traditions and diasporal rhythms of Africa with African-American traditions and modern musical trends. This week, they'll be bringing their unique sound to Underwood Park in a concert that promises to get you dancing both inside and out.

Where? Underwood Park, Lafayette Ave. at Washington Ave.

When? Tuesday, August 9th at 10:30 a.m.

How Much? Free

Ages? All ages

 

What? Prolific performer and Parents Choice Award winner Robbi K brings her high energy style and variety of talents to the hill this week. It's the final event in everyone's favorite outdoor music series, but with Robbi K and Friends' spirited show, it's sure to go out on a high note.

Where? The Grove in Fort Greene Park (near the monument).

When? Wed., Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

How Much? Free, with suggested $2 donation
