Summer weekends will soon be gone - and along with them a lot of the great (usually free) outdoor neighborhood events. So, get out and get it while it's hot with our selection of the top local events for this weekend.

What? In the final evening of their free summer series of jazz and poetry, the Fort Greene Park Conservancy presents drummer Ben Perowsky. His notable career has placed him among a small vanguard of players able to move fluently between jazz, experimental music and cutting edge pop and rock, so get to the grove for a chance to catch him and Moodswing Orchestra in action.

Wasablanca

What? Think you're at the beginning of a beautiful friendship? Bring your new friend to Gowanus as the Bell House transforms into a Moroccan den of intrigue, cocktails, jazz, blackmail and burlesque, all inspired by the classic Oscar-winning film Casablanca. The festivities at the unique show/party will feature couple-friendly burlesque, BINGO-based games of chance, live music all night, specialty cocktails, and a Jazz Age ambience and glamour. The evening features a fabulous selection of some of New York's best performers.
Where? The Bell House, 149 7th St., between 2nd and 3rd Aves.

To celebrate Heart of Brooklyn's 10th anniversary, all six HOB attractions (Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Children's Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park and Prospect Park Zoo) will be open to the public, free of charge. There will also be contests, prizes, special events and a Brooklyn themed mini-golf course in Grand Army Plaza!

Beats, Rhymes, & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest

What?
Extended at BAM, Michael Rapaport's documentary chronicles the iconic pioneers of hip hop, A Tribe Called Quest. One of the most commercially successful and artistically significant musical groups in recent history, the band’s sudden breakup in 1998 shocked the industry and fans, whose appetite for the group’s innovative musical stylings never seems to diminish.
