Fort Greene Bar Hosting Mayoral Debate Watch Party

Head to Moe's for politics, beers and probably someone yelling at the TV.

Arguably the most fun part of watching debates — mayoral debates, presidential debates, two weirdos on the subway, whatever — is taking sides while you crack open a cold one.

So you're in luck. You'll have a place to go in Fort Greene Tuesday night to do just that for the first mayoral debate. Republican Joe Lhota. Democrat Bill de Blasio. Beers. Food. Fun. How do you skip out on that?

Moe's Bar in Fort Greene (80 Lafayette St.) will be hosting a viewing party, attended by local politicians and concerned residents. Things kick off around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night and go until the last talking point has a stake driven through its heart.

Of note: This particular debate is being hosted by members of Bill de Blasio's election team, so, y'know, Lhota fans might want to steer clear. (Though based on the most recent polling, Lhota fans are few and far between anyway)

Assemblyman Walter Mosely will also be in attendance, so bring your pothole complaints, as well! The event is free and Moe's is hosting karaoke afterward, so now's your chance to subject strangers to both your political views and your off-key rendition of "Panama" by Van Halen. Good times.
