5 Things: Film Screening at P.S. 20, Naturalist Event at Prospect Park Audubon Center

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. Screen a local filmmaker's work. This Friday P.S. 20 will celebrate the work of one its parents with the second screening in its "Made by Parents" film series with Up With Me, by Greg Takoudes. In addition to a screening of Takoudes' film, a children's movie will be shown separately. Tickets $6 adults, $4 kids, with pizza, drink and fresh popcorn. 225 Adelphi St. 6:30 p.m.

2. Catch a (child-size) Broadway show. The Brooklyn Children’s Theatre (BCT) Teen Players are putting on Broadway classic Fiddler on the Roof, performed by the Players' most diverse cast ever.  Middle and High School students, whose roots range from China, Colombia, the West Indies, and Albania,  emphasize the universal theme of “tradition” as they portray shtetl life, both hopeful and tragic. Friday, June 7, 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 8 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. 126 Saint Felix St., between Hanson Place and Lafayette Avenue in the Heart of the BAM Cultural District. All proceeds from ticket sales go to the BCT Scholarship Fund.

3. Tap into your inner naturalist. At the Prospect Park Audubon Center, make your own journal, learn how to use binoculars and learn how to use field guides. Thursdays and Fridays, 2–3 p.m. until Friday, June 28. Free.

4. Unwind to the sound of turntables. Unwind after the long week at SRB Brooklyn where DJ Scratch and his DJ platform Scratchvision will bring you a night filled with DJs, classic music, moments and guests. The night will feature Q-Tip, DJ Spinna, and DJ Scratch. 10 p.m.-4 a.m. 177 2nd Ave. $10 in advance, $15 at the door before midnight, $20 after.

5. Move your car. DOT’s alternate side parking rules are in effect today.
