5 Things: Tap Into Your Inner Bill Nye, Swing Out

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. White Pepper Ice Cream. If those words bring back a rush of 1990s-era music involving two Japanese women, funky dance beats and a whole lot of food-centric lyrics, you're in luck: Cibo Matto will be gracing Littlefield in Gowanus tonight to perform all of their Sugar Water hits plus more recent ear candy. 8 p.m. $25.

2. The science of suds. You know how everyone keeps sharing posts on Facebook from a page called "I F***ing LOVE Science"? This is that in real time with beer. Join biomolecular archaeologist Patrick McGovern and pioneering brewmaster Sam Calagione (Dogfish Head) as they explore ancient ales from around the world and retrace their journey to reconstruct a 3,500 year old Nordic Grog as part of the World Science Festival's Night at The Bell House. This event is sold out but a limited number of tickets will be released 30 minutes before doors open. 6:30 p.m.

3. Breaking down walls. Slip into something more comfortable and indulge in the intense performances of John Turturro and Wrenn Schmidt in The Master Builder, about a toxic love triangle that pushes each character to their emotional limits. 7:30 p.m. $25.

4. Swing out, sister. Support vital playgrounds and open areas in Brooklyn's Prospect Park by attending the Spring Swing 2013 gala benefit at the Boathouse tonight, featuring light fare, music, dancing, and a silent auction. Yes, it's a bit last minute but has that ever stopped you from throwing on a little black dress before? More details here.

5. Move it or lose it. Alternate side parking is in effect, friends.
