5 Things: 5K in Prospect Park, Explore the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Catch Boy Bands at Barclays

Brooklyn goings on you won't want to miss.

1. Take a lap. The second annual Finland Center Midsummer 5K Run will begin at 9 a.m. at the Prospect Park Oriental Pavillion. Karhu jackets will be awarded to man and woman who come in first place. All runners will receive discount coupons from Karhu and Jack Rabbit Sports as well as cosmetic gifts from Lumene. 
2. Go back in time. Explore the Brooklyn Navy Yard by taking the Overview Tour, which explores the vast 300-acre property and offers opportunities to take a closer look at the Yard’s most intriguing sites, including a a dry dock that’s been used since before the Civil War, the 24-acre former naval hospital annex that is virtually frozen in time, and the nation’s first multi-story LEED Gold-certified industrial building. Tickets for the tour are $30 per person. Tours are two hours and are given from 2:30-4:30 p.m. 

3. Spice up your life. The Way Station's Sunday Screening will feature '90s classic Spice World, followed by comedy night. The Way Station, 683 Washington Ave., 5 p.m.  

4. Jump on the boy bandwagon. In keeping with the theme of '90s nostalgia, catch man bands New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men as they take the stage at the Barclays Center tonight, at 7:30 p.m. Ticket purchasing information and more details of the once-in-a-lifetime tour (this is the first tour for 98 Degrees in over 12 years, you guys) can be found here. 620 Atlantic Ave. 
 
5. Keep an eye on your ride. Alternate side parking is in effect.
