JUNE 13 MARKS THE OPENING OF MARKET SEASON IN ALBEE SQUARE!

For downtown Brooklyn customers, whether residents or employees of local businesses who have been anticipating the start of open-air market season, the wait is over.  The Albee Square Farmer’s Market kicks off its 2014 season this Friday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the DeKalb Avenue corner of Bond and Fulton Streets.

In its sophomore season in the up-and-coming Albee Square district, the market is a welcome addition to the downtown neighborhood, which is becoming a go-to shopping area for local residents.

The Albee Square Farmer’s Market is an open-air venue in the European tradition, distinguished by the diversity of its vendors.  These include a vibrant mix of fresh fruits and vegetables from Sarah & Nancy’s Farm, the homemade breads, desserts and jams of Meredith’s Bread (includes a wide variety of gluten-free products) the individual-sized quiches and borekas of Yonah’s Delights and the lip-smacking barbeque of Soul Sister Quisine!

In addition to these returning vendors, we welcome a number of new additions to our growing market.  Among them are Lizzmonade, maker of refreshing, fresh-squeezed juices, Nevin’s Farm (nuts and dried fruits)  and Gelato Ti Amo, traditional Italian gelato, with ingredients imported from Tuscany!  Until recently available only at their East Village location, this authentic gelato can now be sampled by Brooklyn residents, minus the subway ride!

Not Just Tea, a Harlem based business owned by Jennifer Jackson, specializes in hand blended, premium loose teas.  Representing craft artisans, we have Youman’s Touch with its line of scented soaps and shea butters and Histoires de Pompons, a French home decorating brand.

Combining the best qualities of the European-inspired marketplace, the Albee Square Farmer’s Market is committed to bringing together a unique collection of local vendors comprised of family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs alike.
