Our Work is Not Done
32BJ President Héctor Figueroa on the re-election of President Obama:
“32BJ members worked hard for many months to help reelect President Obama, and we are relieved and happy he has won. But our work is not over. Now union members and other advocates for middle-class and working families need to give the president the support he needs to push for critical changes, including government investment to create good jobs, tax reform to force the rich to pay their fair share, and comprehensive immigration reform. The president should not have to fight these battles alone. And if he starts to head down a wrong path, we need to stand up and let him know. America’s working families must be both vocal and visible to help President Obama bring a broadly shared prosperity back to our country."
With 125,000 members in eight states, including 70,000 in New York, 32BJ is the largest union of property service workers in the country and the largest private-sector union in the state.
