Cooling Center Locations In Fort Greene-Clinton Hill

With temperatures soaring into the 90s today, beating the heat is a tough business — particularly for older residents.

Individuals who have no ready access to a cool environment, and particularly those at risk for heat-related illness, should use cooling centers during a heatwave.

Here is a list of cooling centers in the neighborhood, according to nyc.gov:

Willoughby Senior Center
105 North Portland Ave.
Hours: Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wheelchair Accessible?: Yes. 

Walt Whitman Library
93 St. Edwards St.
Hours: Mon., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tue., 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Wed., 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Thurs.,  1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Fri. 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Wheelchair Accessible?: No. 

Ft. Greene Grace Agard Harewood Senior Center
966 Fulton St.
Hours: Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wheelchair Accessible?: Yes.

Raices Times Plaza Senior Center
460 Atlantic Ave.
Hours: Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wheelchair Accessible?: Yes.
