Afterschool Playtesting Opportunity for 6th, 7th, & 8th Graders (DUMBO)

Dear Parents of 6th, 7th, & 8th graders:

 Is your child interested in English Language Art (ELA)? Is your child interested in Games? Has your child played Simogo’sYear Walk, a 2D/3D first-person puzzle/adventure game set in the Swedish woods during the 19th century? Does your child want to playtest and to help make an ELA-based puzzle/adventure game better?

If so, have your child join us for a one-day playtesting session of an ELA-based puzzle/adventure game on Monday, November 25 from 4pm-6pm.

At Amplify, we strive to develop the best products through continuous testing of curriculum, games, software, and hardware. We use a method called "playtesting" to inform product design, sessions are run by our research professionals who moderate and log student interactions with our product. These sessions allow us to introduce an idea, concept, game, content piece, or technology piece to potential users in order to gather feedback and suggestions and to improve the usability of the product. Feedback is an essential part of the process, and when designing for  children, it is important to us to playtest our ideas. All students' feedback is used in the development cycle and contributes to the final vision of our curriculum product, giving the students a voice in our product decisions.

 Who are we looking for: 

·      6th, 7th, & 8th graders who describe themselves as gamers

·      6th, 7th, & 8th graders who enjoy playing puzzle/adventure games

·      6th, 7th, & 8th graders who enjoy playing games on iPads

 

 What for:

·      To playtest a beta build of a Year Walk inspired ELA-based puzzle/adventure game

 

When:

·      Monday, November 25

·      4:00pm-6:00pm

Location:

·      Amplify, 55 Washington Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201

 

Compensation:

·      $40 Amazon Gift Card, pizza and snacks provided
