The Early Word: March Planned Against Gun Violence

1. After the fatal shooting of Jaquan Webb and in separate incidents at Fort Greene Houses this month, community leaders and residents planned a march on April 1 against gun violence. Councilwoman Letitia James, D-Fort Greene, Church of the Open Door Rev. Mark Taylor and Ingersoll Tenants Association president Ed Brown, among others, will lead the demonstration, which will coincide with Palm Sunday. 2. Via card-carrying Park Slope Food Co-op member (and editor of The Local New York Times blog) Gersh Kuntzman comes word that the fresh fruit and veggie purveyors will hold a debate about divesting itself of Israel-made products tonight in Fort Greene.
