Reminder: Local Bike Share Stations Up For Debate

Meeting planned for Tuesday night to discuss newly released bike rental locations.

Now that the city Department of Transportation has released what amounts to, local residents, business and property owners will get a chance to make their voices heard.

On Tuesday at 6 p.m., DOT representatives will present the 56 rental station locations in Community Board 2, which includes Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Downtown Brooklyn, as well as Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn Heights and Boerum Hill.

The mobile kiosks include locations on public streets, sidewalks and private property. In some cases, removal of parking spaces for cars and delivery trucks will be necessary.

In addition to Tuesday's meeting, Bike Share Demonstration will be held at in Fort Greene on Saturday, May 19 from noon to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, June 3 from noon to 4 p.m.

CB2's Transportation Committee meeting will be held at St. Francis College's Founders Hall, 180 Remsen St. in Brooklyn Heights.
