Update: Suspect In Custody After Ingersoll Gunfight With Police

Incident occurred Wednesday evening outside 64 St. Edwards St. and 24 Monument Walk.

Update, June 14, 10:17 a.m.: Police confirmed that a suspect in yesterday's gunfight at Ingersoll Houses had been taken into custody. 

No charges have been filed, according to police.

Shots rang out at Ingersoll Houses in Fort Greene on Wednesday in an exchange of gunfire between an armed suspect and officers, according to police.

The incident began at around 7 p.m. when officers heard shots fired at 64 St. Edwards St. in the public housing project, police said.

According to police, officers then returned fire. No one was hit during the exchange, police said.
