Off-Duty Children's Services Driver Charged with Drunk Driving

Administration for Children's Services employee was arrested Saturday night after cops saw him looking "sluggish" at the wheel, police said.

 

An off-duty driver for ACS, the agency that protects the city's children, was arrested Saturday night for allegedly driving under the influence.

A cop spotted the 63-year-old Administration for Children's Services employee at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday looking "sluggish" at the wheel, police said.

The man was in his car on Elliot Place, next to Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene. A Breathalyzer test showed the man had a blood alcohol level above the .08 limit. He was charged with Driving While Audibly Intoxicated, a lesser charge than Driving While Intoxicated, according to police.
