Nov. 21: Keeping Fort Greene Safe
Meeting held today on how to form and strengthen block and tenant associations.
1. Fort Greene Association sponsors a Spotlight on Public Safety at 7 p.m. to give residents tips on self-defense and spread the word about late night home escort service available to women in the community. There will also be information about applying for grants and available workshops for members of tenant and block associations.
2. At Southpaw tonight at 7:30, Moth StorySLAM provides a stage and a microphone, a theme to inspire and shape the evening, a lively and supportive audience and a host to guide the festivities. This month's theme: Reunion.
3. Community Board 2's Executive Committee will meet tonight at 6 p.m. at LIU's Library Community Center.
4. In case you missed it: Participants celebrated the running of Brooklyn's first marathon in decades Sunday at Prospect Park.
