New Scorsese Film Coming to Fort Greene

Movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio will shoot at several neighborhood locations on Thursday.

Get ready, Fort Greene... Marty Scorsese is on his way to the 'hood.

Or at least that's what more than a few Fort Greene movie fans are hoping for as shooting continues for the legendary director's latest film, The Wolf of Wall Street.

The movie, which focuses on a New York stockbroker caught up with the corporate banking world and the mob, stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey. According to IMDB, the film is scheduled for a 2013 release.

According to the film's production company, interior scenes will be shot at 17 S. Elliott Place on Thursday.

Drivers should particularly take note of parking changes also scheduled for Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. affecting the following streets in Fort Greene:

  • Lafayette Avenue between St. Felix Street and Fort Greene Place

  • S. Oxford Street between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street
