Long Island Rail Road to add four extra trains to handle Barclays Center crowds.

The countdown to the first Nets home game in Brooklyn is on.

And to prepare fans to take public transportation to Barclays Center, Long Island Rail Road announced beefed-up train service from Atlantic Terminal to handle more riders.

LIRR will add four extra trains leaving at 10:15 p.m., 10:42 p.m., 10:59 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. on game days Monday through Friday.

Additional trains on weekend game days will depart Atlantic Terminal at 10:24 p.m., 10:52 p.m., 11:31 p.m. and 11:42 p.m.

The extra departures come in addition to LIRR's regular eastbound service from Brooklyn to Jamaica Station in Queens.

The move to beef up train service around the recently opened arena is part of a multi-agency effort led by "Gridlock" Sam Schwartz to minimize traffic disruptions and encourage the use of public transportation by Brooklyn Nets fans.

LIRR's announcement of extra trains on game days does not change the schedule of the last train to leave Atlantic Terminal, which will remain 11:55 p.m. on weekdays and weekends.
