Mosley and Alabi Receive Big Endorsements

The two pols are battling for the Assembly seat left vacant by Hakeem Jeffries.

Two candidates vying for Hakeem Jeffries’ Assembly seat received big endorsements this week.

Council Member Letitia James has announced her endorsement of :

"I am proud to throw my complete support behind Walter for Assembly," said James. "Through his life of public service, he has shown a passionate commitment to the people of central Brooklyn, and I know that he will be a progressive voice for working families in Albany. Together, we will make sure that the needs of our community are met on both the local and state level."

While, UFCW Local 1500 announced that they would be backing :

“Olanike Alabi will be a strong advocate for working people,” said Pat Purcell, assistant to the President of UFCW Local 1500. “We are confident she will fight tirelessly for working families and economic justice and will truly be a progressive reformer in Albany. We are proud to announce our endorsement of Olanike Alabi by the members of UFCW Local 1500.”

The union represents 23,000 workers in companies such as King Kullen, D'Agostinos, Pathmark, Stop & Shop (Edward's), Gristedes and Shop Rite

The state primary election is set for September 13, 2012.
