BAM Fisher Block Party This Weekend

Event to celebrate opening of new performance, practice and office space.

Fort Greene's newest cultural hotspot is open for business—and Brooklyn Academy of Music wants the neighborhood to come out and celebrate.

On Saturday, the block on Ashland Place between Lafayette Avenue and Hanson Place will be filled with outdoor performances, food vendors, family workshops and more to commemorate the opening of BAM Fisher Building.

The music lineup includes the kid-friendly Shine and the Moonbeams, the awesomely empowered young women of Willie Mae Rock Camp Band For Girls, Aabaraki and Alice Smith.
